Dr. Raymond. E. Phillips practiced internal medicine in the towns of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow in New York. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition, he has directed the Institute for the Vascular Clinic at The Foot Clinics of New York City and at the Institute for Circulation Studies in Ossining and White Plains, New York. He is Medical Director of Medical Exchange International, a not-for-profit organization providing patient care and professional education in needy areas overseas. A graduate of Yale Medical School, he served as resident in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospitals, Johns Hopkins University and at New York Hospital, Cornell University.

Dr. Phillips coauthored The Cardiac Rhythms, A Systematic Approach to Interpretation and authored Cardiovascular Therapy, both books published by W. B. Saunders Company. Most recently, he has authored a book published by Springer Nature, The Physical Exam: An Innovative Approach in the Age of Imaging.

Additional writings outside of the field of medicine include a recently completed series of historical novels: The River Quintet. These 17th century stories take place in colonial America and abroad. They tell about youthful travelers—Native American, Dutch, and English—during the “Contact Period” of American history. Dr. Phillips has also published numerous articles on subjects of nature.
