AB KEY  POINTSActive  and  chronic  presentations  of  atopic  dermatitis  can  differ  in  color  and  morphology  in  lighter  and  darker  skin.Active  disease  in  lighter  skin  can  often  present  with  patches  and  plaques  that  are  pink  to  red  and  erythematous  compared  to  brown  to  violaceous  in  darker  skin.Morphology  in  darker  skin  can  include  follicular  and  papular  presentations  compared  to  patch  and  plaque  morphology  seen  in  lighter  skin.Chronic  disease  in  darker  skin  can  also  present  with  postinflammatory  pigment  change.
